Last night DNTEL gave their first- ever live performance. Chop Suey provided an excellent small venue and I managed to speak with James (aka DNTEL) after the show. Life is full of possibilities and people full of surprises; James was awkward and shy. He seemed genuinely flummoxed when I told him that [his most recent CD](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005QHR8/qid=103073 5542/sr=8-2/ref=sr8_2/103-6079286-5419806?v=glance&s=music&n=507846) had, in my opinion, cut a new direction in the uncharted territory of electro-rock. (Really? How did you find it? People _listen to that stuff?)

Sadly, it seems DNTEL’s night at Chop Suey coincided with Bumbershoot (where vocalist Ben Gibbard’s band is playing): for now, at least, this was DNTEL’s first and last show.
